Dr Amin is an expert in international affairs and one of the Middle East’s leading economic, defence and energy strategists.
Dr Amin was responsible for the establishment of the UAE Offset Group (UOG) which follows a model unique amongst offset operations in the world. Under his chairmanship, the UOG widened its scope to include a string of venture capital investments, privatization initiatives and other Public Private Partnerships, including the creation of the strategic (US$8 billion) Dolphin gas initiative in the UAE. He was also an advisor to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, now Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Dr Amin has advised a number of governments including Ireland, France, Jordan, UAE, South Africa, Malaysia, Switzerland and Indonesia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, as well as a member of other professional organizations. He took a First Class Honours degree in Electronic Engineering and Aerodynamics at the University of London, and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.
Sameer is the Chairman and CEO of Dubai International Capital. In the preceding 20 years he held a variety of senior finance & investment positions in Europe and the Middle East.
More recently, Sameer was Group CFO for The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is a board member on several Dubai Holding companies, as well as Dubai International Financial Centre and Dubai Media Inc.
Sameer holds an Honors BSc in Accounting & Financial Management and a Diploma in Industrial Studies and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Tim has 35 years experience in international finance. His broad experience includes senior appointments as a corporate financier, a stockbroker, a fund manager and a professional accountant.
He founded the Chescor Group in 1987 and has been a director of Chescor Capital since 1993. He has advised on uncontested and hostile takeovers of public companies in the UK and undertaken a large number of business valuations in connection with investments by equity funds, and as part of M & A assignments. In recent years, Tim has led the team advising the National Central Cooling Company PJSC (Tabreed) on its overall financial strategy.
Tim is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, a Member of the Corporate Finance Faculty, a Member of the Securities Institute, and a General Representative registered with the Financial Services Authority in the UK. He studied at the University of Bristol in England where he gained a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
Alan has over 25 years' experience in international corporate and project finance, corporate and business strategy, joint ventures, M&A and private equity.
A director of Chescor Capital since 1998, Alan has lead teams in over 150 major international assignments and has worked with and alongside governments, major corporations, high net worth individuals, financial institutions, banks, law firms and other professional advisors. He has led the creation of major international joint ventures, raised equity, debt and mezzanine finance, completed mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, and the restructuring of major corporations.
His career includes periods as director of corporate finance and management consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers, as founder and senior manager of the strategy unit in Deloitte Management Consultants, as senior corporate strategy executive with Fisons plc, a Times 100 UK listed multinational, and as marketing manager with a division of Monsanto Inc, a Fortune 100 Corporation.
Alan is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, a Member of the Institute of Directors, and a Registered Representative with the Financial Services Authority in the UK. He studied at St Catherine’s College, Oxford, where he gained a BA (Hons) in Engineering Science.
Nasri has an extensive career in international finance in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. He specializes in private equity and venture capital and has led several investment projects in energy, shipping and manufacturing.
A director of Chescor Capital since 1999, Nasri introduced the company to the GCC. His responsibilities included the creation and investment of the first venture capital fund under the UAE Offset program, and the creation of a joint program with Hewlett Packard to fund greenfield dot com companies.
He previously worked as Senior Project Manager and Investment Fund Manager for the Offset programme of Giat Industries SA in Abu Dhabi and was instrumental in the creation of many successful start-ups, including Combined Cargo UAE (now Emirates Ship Investment Company) and Gulf Energy Systems (now the National Central Cooling Company PJSC - Tabreed).
Before entering the world of private equity and venture capital, Nasri was employed by the Schlumberger Group of companies as financial controller, regional treasurer and tax manager in Europe, Africa and Asia.
Nasri studied at the University of Buckingham in England, where he gained a BSc (Hons) Econ.
